Upon the end of the war, the students selected blue and gray as the school colors to represent the Union (blue) and Confederacy (gray).A Hoya or a Jack?Georgetown had a tradition of naming its live canine mascots Hoya, after their sports team nickname. However, one bulldog would only respond to the name Jack.
